Accountable Mail includes Express, Registered, Certified and Insured mail parcels. The list below outlines the path this type of mail follows from post office to your desk. 1. Mail Services picks up accountable mail from post office @ 8:30 AM daily. The average per day is 30-50 pieces and up to 200 during application deadline periods. 2. Mail is sorted according to delivery route. There are four??? delivery routes for accountable mail. 3. The accountable mail is delivered and a signature is collected.
Future changes to procedure: 1. Mail services will assign a barcode label for tracking purposes, after step one above. 2. Delivery manifest will reflect the assigned barcode label per piece. 3. Departments will be able to look up deliveries via the web. |
