Change in Purchasing of Apple Products

In order to take advantage of its expertise and proximity, Aztec Shops has been designated as the campus supplier of Apple products. Effective April 18th, 2005 departments ordering Apple products will utilize the standard procurement processes rather than placing orders through Central Stores.

 This move not only makes Apple product expertise available only steps away from every department on campus, it also eliminates the separate process for purchasing those products. Because the on-line requisition process will be no different than with other vendors, the change from Central Stores to Shops should be seamless. Per standard practice, delivery to the departments will be handled through Receiving.

All orders received in Central Stores prior to April 18, 2005 end of business will be processed by Central Stores. All new requests must be submitted using an on line Oracle requisition to Contract and Procurement Management. Central Stores is in the process of updating their website to redirect users requesting quotes. During this time, continue to use Central Stores website to obtain quote information (http://bus.sdsu.edu/Stores/Applelink_11.htm). Be sure to reference the quote information on your requisition and attach or fax (40850) a copy with the requisition number to Contract and Procurement Management.
